Emergency Utilization

Emergency Utilization

Helping the patients understand the difference between a true emergency and something that can be treated at their Medical Home by their primary care provider.

Some examples of True Emergencies are:

Loss of consciousness, chest pain, severe trouble breathing, sudden loss of vision, numbness or difficulty speaking, severe abdominal pain, coughing up or vomiting blood, severe bleeding, head trauma, major brokin bones, seizures/convulsions.

In these cases, call your PCP and go to the nearest emergency room.
