Preventing Flu this Season

How can you best prevent getting or spreading flu germs?

- Get a yearly flu shot to help prevent seasonal flu especially if you are in a high-risk group. You may still get the flu even with the shot but you will get a milder case.

- Avoid contact with people you know have the flu if possible.

- If you get the flu, to avoid spreading germs to other, cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue. Never wipe with your hands. Dispose of used tissues properly in a wastebasket.

- After coughing or sneezing, wash your hands thoroughly and often with an anti-bacterial soap and warm water.

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.

- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if you don’t have access to soap and water.
